Usually these type of emails get picked up by my spam filter but somehow this one managed to slip through -
Re: Sandra-I have a Referral-CALL ME
Robert (Your Friendly Realtor) [MoneyTree@xmr3.com]
Dear Sandra,
I was referred to you as an active real estate agent working with buyers and sellers.
We have a few buyer applications in Guilford, CT 6437 that have been pre approved for a loan. These applicants are looking to buy a house within the next 0-180 days and have been verified. They need a real estate agent to find them a property!
Can you call me at (818) 444-7295 Ext. 8028 to give you more information about these applications?
Thank you,
Robert Beck

What I love about this one is Robert identifies himself as “ Your Friendly Realtor” in his address but in his signature line he signs as a sales manager. You’re a Realtor, Robert, highly doubt it. He was referred to me? Nice try, don’t think so. I have heard Money Tree Funding. They sell leads. Kinda, sorta if your lucky.
Oh, google is a wonderful thing. You can read all sorts of interesting things about Money Tree Funding on Google and Mr. Beck is mentioned by name. Oh my. Not interested, but thanks for trying.
I wonder how many Realtors fall for this and think it is a real referral and make the call.
I don’t buy leads, but for any one else who is thinking about it, a word to the wise. Do your homework. There are too many scammers out there just waiting to take your hard earned money.
I really like how he included my number at the bottom of the email. I guess it’s in case I forget my phone number.

Don't you just loooovvee those emails? How about the phone calls? Hi Sally! (like they know me) I saw you on ActiveRain(trying to make me believe they're a REAL member) and then the spiel.
I get these too. But what really irks me are all the phone calls like this. I try to be polite, but ometimes you just have to hang up.
You're really a blogging fool this week My Sandra!
Sally - Usually I don't open them, but I thought it was from someone on active rain. Ticked me off. The phone calls drive me crazy too, but they don't get to far with me, as I kinda cut them off at the knees. : -)
My Jen - You are always so polite. I say I'm not interested nicely and then if they don't get the message, then I'm not so nice.
No kidding. I have done enough blogging in the last couple of days to keep me covered the next 3 months!
Sandra - You are right, you are on a roll. That mug of yours keeps popping up on my subscribed to list...
I typically have fun with this stuff (spam & the like) but if they catch me on the wrong day, they might as well be wearing milkbone underwear with this dog. (Line borrowered from Norm's character from 'Cheers'.)
Jason - Gee, is that scary for you. lol I think I have hit a blogging record for me! Now if I could just find something to re-blog, something brilliant. : -)
I was thinking of shooting him back an email, but figured their spam filter would catch it! A call to Mr Beck, maybe? Let him think I want to purchase the whole State of Connecticut for my territory? lol
Sandra I get the same sort of thing on the mortgage side. Today was a phone call about doing loans on people who have recently gone through a foreclosure. Since Fannie, Freddie, and FHA will not touch these, this means that they must being doing some sort of high interest loan. I guess they don't think that these people have been in enough trouble, so lets get them into more.
We get these too, every so often. They send leads for towns we covered under our old brokerage, not our current one. Good research on their part. Even if we did buy leads, like we'd call CALIFORNIA to get a CONNECTICUT lead?? And like a buyer in CT would contact a CA company to find out about a CT property?? I replied back once, "Since you have my phone number and email address, kindly forward it to the buyer and tell them they can contact me ANY TIME!"
We got no response back, of course.
George - Recently gone through a foreclosure? oh my. Sounds just like something you would want to get involved in, not.
Pat & Wayne - What a surprise! Just another scam to part agents from their money.
Well Sandra
The rainers can stop easy that, just register that email as a JUNK ans that's it :), hope that you will not receive anymore spam :)
Ray Saenz
Hi Ray -
You know how it is, sometimes these things slip through. but I will take your advice. Thanks
Hi Sandra - I asked Robert to get in touch with you. I heard business was a little slow this month and you may need to follow up on some fantastic leads - NOT!!! LOL
Bill - Okay you had me cracking up with that comment.
Sandra,
OK :) I hate spammers too, specially when they are telling lies.
Ray Saenz
Ray - What are you saying? They lie? lol
So it sounds to me like you don't really have an appreciation for all their hard work of tracking you down Sandra? Is that what you're trying to say? LOL I'm so glad most of "that mail" is filtered by my spam protector and I never see it! Hmmm.... What will I send you next week? LOL (gotta work on my headlines I see...you found me out!)
Susie - All thier hard work? Don't they have programs to find emails addresses? From what I have seen they have been sending out this exact email for years. Numbers, It all a numbers game. Send out enough and someone will bite.
